It’s a new year which brings fresh perspective. It’s time to try some new things, explore the roads you’ve yet to take, or even go deeper in a yoga pose than you’d imagined possible. But these new choices should be informed from everything you did previously (that perhaps didn’t work out as well), so that they’re not really wild ideas, just better ones. Maybe in 2019 you don’t react so quickly to an upsetting text, or you make sure to show up on time to meet up with friends, or you decide that you’re going to carefully set kapotasana as your year end yoga goal. So set your intentions and then join me at my 4:30pm Saturday class @lucentyoga, and see what unfolds after you meditate on them for 75 minutes. ✨

Yoga PSA: The holidays are upon us. And while this brings plenty of fun, it also brings plenty of rich food, alcohol and sugar. Should this make your stomach feel less than awesome, rocking back and forth in Bow Pose (aka Dhanurasana) stimulates the digestive system and helps get things running in their proper order. If you want to feel your absolute best though, check out one of my classes this weekend @lucentyoga listed below.

Fall is finally here. My favorite season, when the leaves change, the air is crisp and the city is abuzz with excitement and fun. Fall makes me want to move, energize and be present for all of its beauty. Join me this weekend @lucentyoga to do all of the above and the times listen below. ✨🍂

Saturday- 4:30pm

The long week of clouds, humidity and rain has finally ended but left most of us in as bad of a mood as the weather. Luckily for you, I have TONS of hip opening planned for my 4:30pm Saturday class @lucentyoga to help you let go of those rainy day blues. I can’t think of a better way to shake off any lingering bad vibes. See you soon!

Mercury is in retrograde, a full moon is on the horizon, an eclipse too and it’s Leo season, so crazy people like me are running wild feeling full of ourselves. Thank goodness I’m teaching twice @lucentyoga this weekend to help bring some zen to these insane times. Good luck out there (I’ve already broken my toe crossing the street) and see you in the mat!

No, that’s not a mystery hand on my right inner thigh, it’s my own left hand as I’m in a half bound triangle. Have you always wanted to do cool, weird tricks with your body to freak people out on dates or at dinner parties? Then join me on Saturday at 4:30pm @lucentyoga for a fun class to improve your flexibility (and strength and posture and mood, aka EVERYTHING) and then wow your friends with some bizarre tricks of your own. 😉

Flexibility and strength, two major physical and mental gains of yoga. I came to yoga physically flexible but lacking in strength (I couldn’t even chaturanga) and mentally strong but lacking in flexibility (it was my way or the highway). Yoga has brought expansion to my mind and strength to my body, taught me much about diligence and patience and made me a more accepting, less judgmental person. Join me Saturday at 4:30pm @lucentyoga to test both your fortitude and your openness and see what you can gain and how you can grow from your practice.

Although it can be brutal when it hits the 90’s, the warm weather helps open the body for deeper stretches. One of my favorite poses to teach in the summer months is Hanumanasana, aka the Splits, because the heat allows even the stiffest of students to find some version. Join me on Tuesday at 9:30am @lucentyoga to get super long and smiley.

Triangle, aka Utthita Trikonasana, is one of the best known and most commonly practiced yoga poses. A major stretch for the hamstrings and hips, as well as a chest opener, this pose can also be a serious strengthener of the core and legs. It’s important to stay engaged and actively lengthen in the pose, not just tip over and hang, so as to get all the benefits. Join me on Saturday at 4:30pm @lucentyoga to practice engaging and being your most present in each pose.

The temperatures are rising in NYC making sweating unavoidable. So, if you’re going to get sweaty it may as well be doing some fun, detoxing, energizing and opening yoga with me. Join me Saturday at 4:30pm @lucentyoga and see if the heat can help you find a greater height in your practice. 💦
