Yoga PSA: Cold weather is often synonymous with viruses and the flu. One easy way to stay healthy is Shoulder Stand. Doing this pose for 2 to 3 mins daily (or 2 to 3 times per day if you’re already feeling less than great) is a fabulous way (and scientifically proven) to move lymph throughout the body. The more it moves, the more waste it can pick up in the body, eventually getting to your lymph nodes to filter and dispose of these fats, bacterias, etc and thus giving your immune system a big boost. As someone who spends her day touching sweaty people and riding the NYC Subway, I manage to stay pretty healthy thanks to this secret weapon. 😉
